Do a brain dump
Get tasks and ideas out of your head and on to paper.
Categorize
Divide the items into categories: work, family, etc.
Prioritize
Determine where to start or what foundational things must be worked on first.
Lay out a roadmap – steps that you’ll need to take to get to the end goal.
Survey Your Schedule
Do a time audit to determine your AVAILABLE time pockets for work. This may be harder than you think.
Once your time and work pockets have been identified, schedule tasks into them. Not just hodge podge tasks – but focused tasks that move towards a goal (otherwise you’re wasting your time).
Protect your work time and use it wisely! Turn stuff off, tell people NO, and get your butt busy during this time.
